Nike is certainly always on the forefront of the freshest and coolest sneaker releases. Their releases are usually fitting for both sneakerheads and the casual wearer. Nike’s extensive sneaker collection is inspired heavily by the sports industry but is just as influenced, if not more, by the music industry as well. Musical talents have loved sporting Nike sneakers during their performances and enjoy releasing their own custom kicks.
Redesigning a former classic, Nike is set to release a new Air Max 90 model inspired by vinyl records on Saturday, August 24th. Celebrating the 30-year anniversary of the release of the classic sneaker, the Air Max 90 is getting a musical lift to celebrate its anniversary.
The sneaker will feature a Side A & Side B — just like your traditional vinyl record. The color theme is mostly black all around using red accents around the sneaker. The soles contain a light blue finish and the tongue of the sneaker even wears a miniature Nike vinyl logo for a smooth finish.
The sneaker will be available through select retailers and Nike.com on August 24th. Set your alarms and grab a pair before its too late. More pictures of the sneaker can be viewed below.
