Rezz announces BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix

The BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix is an honour for any producer to be a part of and everyone from Flume to Charlotte De Witte have gotten behind the worlds biggest decks to deliver two hours of non-stop anthems, using a mix of their own music and music they like. Dating back all the way to 1993, the legendary Pete Tong kicked it all off and has gotten behind the same decks multiple times since. One thing so great about the Essential Mix is the sheer amount of diversity within the artists they choose, and an exciting artist by the name of Rezz is about to make her solo debut.

Rezz is unarguably one of the most exciting and refreshing acts to grace the music scene in a while and just one listen to her music will tell you that she’s truly something special. Describing her genre as ‘whatever’, it’s hard to find words for what her music is other than her own type of thing.

Taking to Twitter to announce the Essential Mix news, Rezz is doing something different – she’s playing all original music in the mix. So far there is no official release date, but it will come out around the time of her new EP titled ‘Beyond The Senses’ which is out on July 24. If her ‘Nightmare on Rezz Street’ mix is any indicator to what fans can expect from this new mix, then they’re in for a true treat.
