Steve Aoki & Darren Criss – Crash Into Me

For all of those who yearn for tracks from the ’90s, prepare for some extreme nostalgia. Two-time Grammy-nominated DJ and Producer, Steve Aoki, and American actor, singer and songwriter Darren Criss, team up and combine their unique styles to bring their own spin to the track “Crash Into Me.” If the name sounds familiar, that’s because it’s a classic track that most, if not all, will recognize once it’s played. Steve Aoki and Darren Criss put together an upbeat version of the classic track on the song Crash Into Me, originally released by Dave Matthews Band in 1996, earning the band Grammy Award honors for Best Rock Song in 1998.

Darren Criss, known for his Emmy and Golden Globe awarding performance in “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” and his role in Glee, uses his captivating vocals to cover the lyrics of the track. Teaming up with Steve Aoki to produce a modern and more upbeat version of the track seemed like a no-brainer for Criss. On his Instagram, Darren Criss writes: “Steve and I both share a love for reinvigorating familiar songs by fusing them with seemingly unconnected musical styles.” 

Criss’ vocals and Aoki’s producing ability bring a more upbeat and club feel to the classic track. This is another show of musical talent’s from all genre’s and walks on entertainment, coming together to create music. The combination of Steve Aoki’s producing ability and Darren Criss’ voice made for the perfect fit to remake this classic 90’s track.
