By now everyone has heard that A$AP Rocky has been detained in Sweden following assault claims from a street fight in Stockholm, although it has been stated that the American rapper was acting out of self-defense. Reports say that A$AP is currently being held in inhumane, “disease-ridden” conditions that aren’t fit for humans which have since been denied by his lawyer Henrik Olsson Lija. Since the news was broken, the entire music industry – including the EDM scene – have taken to social media to voice their support for A$AP and one of those names is none other than Swedish House Mafia(SHM). A$AP’s story does seem to be similar to Frankenstein and Swedish House Mafia just found the right moment and name for their upcoming single with the rapper. Swedish House Mafia’s Frankenstein was first played live at Ultra Europe Mainstage on 14 July 2019.

Becoming the latest artists to voice support, SHM did it in an alternative way – by hinting at a new track. Coming in the form of a collaboration with A$AP Rocky himself, the Swedish House Mafia & A$AP Rocky track is titled ‘Frankenstein’. Although other crucial details such as the release date have not yet been revealed, it’s looking like we could expect it any time soon with a cryptic Instagram photo posted by the SHM account showing the famous three black dots in a splashing water design and no caption. Along with this, Swedish House Mafia members Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso both posted screenshots on their Instagram stories of them listening to ‘Frankenstein’ along with the SHM account posting the “#JUSTICEFORROCKY” hashtag.
