After a sensational edition of Ultra Europe earlier this month which broke every past attendance record, fans of the Ultra Music Festival series will be happy to see the biggest Ultra event, Ultra Miami, make a return to Bayfront Park for the 2020 edition of the festival. After a long period of debate and negotiations, Miami commissioners have narrowly approved Ultra Music Festival’s return to their original home at Bayfront Park. A vote for the proposal was held on Thursday, July 25, which passed narrowly thanks to a 3-2 vote.

Ultra Miami was forced to move away from Bayfront Park for the 2019 edition of the festival after the city voted unanimously after the many noise and unruly behaviour complaints. The festival was moved south to Virginia Key, causing many logistical and transportation problems for the 2019 Ultra Miami.

The announcement of the return to Bayfront Park come via the festival’s official Twitter page, which posted a video and launched the #BackToBayfront hashtag. The video received an overwhelming amount of positive responses including the likes of Revealed Recordings and Laidback Luke, who suggested he might be deserving of a main stage set this year after his recent performance at Tomorrowland last week.

The 2020 festival is also under new terms, which include the placement of time limits on the festival hours, allowing Ultra to operate from 4 PM to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday and noon to 11 PM Sunday. Capacity is currently to be limited to 55,000 people though that could be increased with the city’s approval.
