There’s a phrase often used around electronic music that goes something like this… “In the beginning, there was house; in the end, there was house; and in the middle, there was Axwell.” The undisputed King of production, and member of legendary trio Swedish House Mafia, Axwell’s legacy is guaranteed to last for a very long time. However, that doesn’t stop Ax from writing another chapter in the story of one of electronic music’s most influential producers, by playing a blinding house-driven set at a wet and wild Tomorrowland. The full set is now online, and you can’t miss out on a slice of this absolute masterclass!

Kicking off with his remix of Jax Jones and Martin Solveig’s Europa track ‘All Day And Night‘, edited exquisitely around the vocal from ‘How You Feel Right Now‘ and ‘I’m Not Alone‘ by Calvin Harris, this special set was only just getting started. One of the highlights of the set came just 12 minutes in, when Axwell dropped the infamous Swedish House Mafia intro ID from their recent sets titled ‘It Gets Better‘, which was recently added to Shazam implying that the release of this track isn’t too far away. Some glorious edits, Axwell classics, and unreleased bangers turned this rain ridden evening into one of the highlights of Tomorrowland. Tracks like ‘Barricade‘ and ‘Dream Bigger‘ weaved in between some signature Axwell mega edits – featuring classic Ax edit material like Nicky Romero’s ‘Flash‘ remix and Sebastian Ingrosso’s ‘Laktos‘ – made for an impeccable 75 minutes, and one that will sit deep in the memories of all those present for some years.
