People who have been following Deadmau5 for a while – or just have a vast knowledge of the talented producer – know that he is much more than just someone who creates music. Largely being part of the streaming world, launching his own forum platform after a falling out with streaming website Twitch, Deadmau5 aka Joel Zimmerman would often stream video games and music creations to his fans. Although music is obviously the largest part of what he does, his other passions shine through which fans get to see on social media and now fans can have an even bigger look into his life and self-founded record label mau5trap.

In partnership with subscription-based music streaming platform TIDAL, Deadmau5 and mau5trap have released an exclusive documentary. Titled ‘Wild Things: Life Inside The mau5trap’, it documents and focuses on the label’s time at Ultra Music Festival Miami and shares a candid look into how they build the mau5trap family, how they connect with their dedicated audiences and just exactly how their distinctive sounds are created to perfection. This is mau5trap fans’ first chance to see the decade old record label in this light and get a glimpse into exactly what it’s like to play at festivals such as Ultra Miami.

“The future of the label I guess will be more artists, more music, a little more traction – just make this mass catalogue cause we’ve been growing it for the last like 10 or 12 years. Just a big part of music.” – Deadmau5 on the future of mau5trap

Knowing Zimmerman’s history with TIDAL, the high quality streaming service is the perfect choice to host this documentary. In the past, Zimmerman has collaborated on exclusive TIDAL X: deadmau5 livestreams and ‘Orchestration’, a nine-part series and along with the documentary, this is just the beginning for this partnership.
