Hardwell – Retrograde

He might not be touring any longer, but Hardwell is still bringing the heat via his label. After announcing his extended break from touring last year, the Dutch former World Number 1 DJ (DJ Mag Top 100) has continued to pump out tracks both from himself, label favourites, and new talents via Revealed Recordings, with his latest release being one of the most anticipated yet. After premiering it mid 2018, most notably during his Ultra Europe main stage set, the hype around this track has continued to grow, so Hardwell fans will be delighted to know that ‘Retrograde‘ is out now!

Receiving support from the likes of Afrojack, W&W, Mike Williams, and more in recent weeks, this track is believed to display a return to older times for Hardwell. Retaining his production quality as always, the Dutchman has thrown it back to the days of his ‘Man With The Red Face‘ remix, and gone for the old rolling progressive sound that led to his early domination of the scene. The return of Hardwell’s signature sound is a welcome change to the current releases in the industry, with ‘Retrograde‘ really turning things back to the so called ‘good days’ of 2010-2013. Plucky stabs, a deep rolling bass, and captivating percussion flow effortlessly, with the inclusion of a trademark Hardwell big room break down providing that festival climax feel, which proved to work a treat with the Tomorrowland main stage crowd during Afrojack’s 2019 set. Now the question arises as to whether this is the start of a new Hardwell era, or just a one of journey into the past to bring something refreshing to a saturated market… only time will tell!

Check out the new Hardwell release ‘Retrograde‘ available via his label Revealed Recordings, and accessible now on all major streaming platforms!
