Kygo & Whitney Houston’s ‘Higher Love’ hits #1 on Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart

Kygo & Whitney Houston‘s Higher Love has hit the top spot on the Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart. Released on 28 June this year, the track was released nearly 33 years to the date after Steve Winwood released the original back in 1986. However, in just over 2 months since its release, Kygo & Whitney’s rendition of the track has sky-rocketed to the top spot on the Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart. The song also peaked at #2 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

In an interview with Apple Music’s Beats1, Kygo explained his initial thoughts upon being presented with the opportunity to create the track:

“…I saw the email about if I could make this work and I ran to my studio and tried to produce around this amazing vocal. This is definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity. This is a collaboration I never thought was gonna happen so I just thought I had to put all my effort into this and make it as good as I can.

While Kygo has had his fair share of tracks flood the Billboard charts, ‘Higher Love’ marks his 3rd #1 on the Dance Club Songs Chart in particular. His first appearance on the chart came in the form of ‘Coming Over’ with Dillon Francis and James Hersey back in 2016 before ‘Remind Me to Forget’ with Miguel topped the chart some two years later.
