Ever since the revival of Arty’s Alpha 9 project in early 2017, one thing that was assured for Arty fans was the return of the same charm and ‘cheesiness’ from the arty alias‘ first few singles, such as ‘Bliss’ and ‘Come Home’ – both released on Ferry Corsten‘s Flashover Recordings. 2 years from then, the fans have enjoyed a flurry of remixes and originals; among them, the remix for Above & Beyond’s ‘My Own Hymn‘, a single with Spencer Brown titled ‘No Going Back‘ and a more latest one in the shape of ‘Before The Dawn‘. Out to achieve the same standards, the Russian production virtuoso and DJ now looks to apply his magician’s touch to American musical group Late Night Alumni‘s single ‘Empty Streets’ – with the remix released as part of a 4-track remix package.
Supplied by Becky Jean Williams’s serenading voice, Arty’s task is made easier in part due to the prominent influence that her ‘vocal cushion’ has on the remix. Joyful and upbeat with an ever enchanting build-up of chords and plucks, the remix has an overbearing mark of being an ‘Arty-made’ product. While it adds to his glorious catalog of remixes under the Alpha 9 alias, his ‘Empty Streets’ remix is one that enhances the ‘nighttime sound’ factor of the original and ensures an injunction to add it the ‘late-night drives’ playlist. Already supported by the likes of Myon, Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, and Markus Schulz among others, it looks likely that Arty fans have received quite a gift from the maestro of progressive house.
