Back for it’s second edition, Summer Daze Music Festival in Malta is a festival like no other. Spanning across an entire week with five days of events and two days of recharging and relaxation time. The spectacular event even offers not one but TWO free events on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 August. Stepping up their game even further since their first edition in 2018, last year offered two events – one of them being free – with the likes of Martin Garrix, Rita Ora, Roger Sanchez and more on the lineup. To celebrate the growth of this unique event, we decided to put together a list of just a few of the huge highlights for 2019’s edition.

Paul Kalkbrenner – Wednesday 14 August

Hailed as one of techno’s biggest superstars, Paul Kalkbrenner has an impressive catalogue of music under his belt that includes seven studio albums and countless singles across many years. Never once losing his magic touch, Kalkbrenner has stayed with his finger on the pulse of techno at all times and has helped to bring it to new audiences by becoming one of the very first techno artists to play on the mainstage of Tomorrowland back in 2016. Playing the first of two free events at Summer Daze, he is joined by an all-star lineup of Loco Dice, Green Velvet, Monki & a selection of local supports.

David Guetta – Thursday 15 August

He’s a name that needs no introduction, but we’ll introduce him anyway. French powerhouse David Guetta is internationally known as being one of the most famous and successful producers to come out of the EDM scene and his expert way of combining dance with pop has captivated audiences for years upon years. Headlining the second free event of Summer Daze, Guetta is bound to bring unforgettable energy to the people of Malta.

Tyga – Thursday 15 August

Supporting Guetta at the same free event, Summer Daze proves that the festival isn’t just for EDM lovers but everyone else in between. Roping in one of the leading stars of hip-hop, rapper Tyga has stage presence that is unmatched and incomparable to any other artist in his league. Nominated at the Grammy Awards, Bet Awards, AMA’s and more, he is an unstoppable force of nature. Joining him and David Guetta is James Arthur, Danny Howard, Alle Farben and local support.

Roger Sanchez – Saturday 17 August

House music lovers will be all too familiar with the legend that is Roger Sanchez. Rightfully earning his legend title, his career takes us way back into the 1990’s where he was pushing the boundaries and breaking molds even then, and he hasn’t stooped since. This isn’t the first time Sanchez has played for crowds at Summer Daze, taking to the stage at the first edition last year and seemingly being such a hit that he will make his return this year.

Along with the mind-blowing world class lineup, Summer Daze is taking the initiative to help the environment. Four of their main methods to help make the festival greener include: eliminating 70% of plastic and installing a 1 cup policy, making sure all traders & partners use bio-degradable serveware, doubling the numbers of the cleaning crews and introducing a better recycling system with labeled bins for different uses.

All in all, Summer Daze 2019 is set to be a spectacular event and one for the books, we can’t wait to see what comes of it!
