As a relatively new event on the festival circuit, all eyes were on Summer Daze in Malta. Expectations reached their peak ahead of the event’s sophomore year and these expectations were completely surpassed. Proving to be a force to be reckoned with and an event for others to take inspiration and learn from, Summer Daze 2019 was one for the history books as the festival provided a week of pure madness with an all-star lineup.

After the incredible opening party with The Martinez Brothers and Carl Bee on Sunday 11th August, on Wednesday 14th August the harsh wind report caused the festival to move location temporarily to UNO village which was only a short walk away. Dealing with this smoothly and professionally, the venue change did nothing to harm the crowd’s spirits and the festivalgoers were as happy as ever vibing to every beat of the incredible music being played out. Not holding back on the first night’s lineup, names included Paul Kalkbrenner, Daniel Blade, Green Velvet, Loco Dice and BBC Radio 1 resident DJ Monki. Every single one of these acts went down a treat with the energetic and electric crowd who clearly enjoyed every second of the free event.

Thursday 15 August saw yet another spectacular free event take place with the help of David Guetta, Tyga and previous X Factor UK winner James Arthur. The three huge headlining names brought a perfect amount of variety and diversity, giving the dedicated crowds of fans something new to see with every set. Each act proved to be hugely popular with fans as they performed their biggest hits one by one and attendees got to see James Arthur beautifully belt out the massive hit ‘Impossible’, Tyga bring the energy with ‘Loco Contigo’ and David Guetta play a DJ set fuelled by his catalogue of non-stop hits like ‘Titanium’ and ‘Play Hard’. With this event, Summer Daze well and truly set the bar for parties in Europe.

Moving on to yet another amazing event on Friday 16 August, this one catered to a more relaxing vibe in the form of a stunning sunset pool party with Christian ‘Bobo’ Vieri and Jjoy, Pocci and Mizzi G. With many enthusiastic supporters out in full force to witness the incredible beats created by Vieri, this particular event attracted many international fans to Summer Daze, giving the festival even more worldwide appeal. Making sure that attendees had a memorable ending to their Summer Daze experience, the festival hit a home run by roping in legend Roger Sanchez (with support from Ziggy and Kristen Knight) to soundtrack the closing party. Selling out this one, the extremely loving and happy vibes were felt by each and every person in the crowd.

Growing at a jaw-dropping rate since last years 15,000 capacity to a staggering 50,000 in only one year, Summer Daze has rightfully earned a permanent place at the top of the music event industry whilst maintaining their values as a festival by being as eco-friendly as possible and donating proceeds of reusable cups to charities Marigold and The Malta Community Chest Fund. Not only do they aim and succeed to put on electrifying events but also help to do good within the community, something that all festivals can look up to to be on top of their game.
