Adam Beyer, the Swedish techno don and Drumcode Records head, caught everyone’s eyes as he delivered a spectacular debut set in Lyon, France at Théâtre antique de Lugdunum (Ancient Theatre of Fourvièreon) on Monday in collaboration with Cercle. Cercle, which is a French event management company, is known for organizing events in very special locations across and beyond Europe. To name a few, last year, German Techno legend Monika Kruse played a sunset set on the Montparnasse Tower Observation Deck  overlooking the Paris skyline, showcasing the beautiful scenery; Kölsch and Nina Kraviz both performed atop the Eiffel Tower and the impressive Italian DJ duo Tale of Us entertained us all with a historical set at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.

If one is an Adam Beyer fanatic or has been keeping up with his sets and releases, it was no surprise that the Swede delivered a phenomenally dark and heavy Techno set. The set was loaded with various ID’s along and many tracks by his fellow Techno artists such as ‘Liquid Slow’ by Charlotte De Witte & Chris Liebing, ‘Slave To The Rhythm’ by Pig&Dan and the Enrico Sangiuliano remix of ‘Camargue 2019’  – one where he considered the original release as one of his favorite tracks of all time.

Techno has been steadily growing in popularity throughout the years with Techno DJ’s now playing more shows by average than DJs playing other genres. DJ Mag and Beatport even introduced an ‘Alternative Top 100 DJs’ listing, which is dominated by Techno artists from world over. The listing is not solely based on the votes that an artist receives but also incorporates sales from Beatport which clearly indicate that all is well in the Techno world.

Check out his set below and the set-list that is is available on 1001tracklist.com. If you like this, all sets are available on Cercle’s YouTube Channel and Facebook page for reliving and you can sign up for future event alerts on Cercles website.
