With his sumptuous Anjunabeats hit ‘Wayfarer’ turning 6 years old earlier this year, it is quite a mark on how well established and central Audien has been to the whole progressive house scene in the past decade, with his release catalog being fragmented over the likes of Enhanced Music, Trice Recordings and the aforementioned home of Above & Beyond favorites. Back to his recent releases, 2019 has seen Audien chart a wonderful original in the shape of ‘Favorite Sound‘ and a remix for Calvin Harris & Rag’n’Bone Man’s ‘Giant’. And now he looks to add to this flow of originals with the release of his latest single ‘Buzzing’.
A sum of his production and vocals from the intriguing Nevve group, the single is a casual yet stocky lesson in progressive sound production. What it brings to the forefront, aside from Audien’s craft when it comes to churning out enjoyable and ‘cheesy’ progressive tunes, is the Nevve group’s interesting story. First rumored as a solo project, the Nevve collective (to term them so) turned out to be a LA based group of singers and songwriters, where the former are said to be singing on a rotation basis – staring out first with Keeley Bumford‘s serenading voice. Lending their collective talent here, the Nevve crowd shines through as a towering vocal presence amidst this chirpy package of punchy synth sounds and quirky loops from the American producer’s production desk.
