Dutch DJ and producer Joris Voorn has just announced the release date of his long awaited new studio album called ‘\\\\’ (four). After almost a year of teasing about his huge project it is finally here, with official release date set on 15th of November, via his own Spectrum Music imprint. To give us a taste of what will the album sound like he also decided to release one of the tracks from the upcoming album, called ‘Messiah’, a collaboration with a british trip hop quartet from London – HÆLOS. Judging by the style of the track the album was highly influenced by the European electronic scene of the mid-’90s and will nicely reflect Voorn’s music journey. It will also feature collaborations with some of the greatest musicians in the world, like Underworld, the South African poet Lazarusman and Dutch pianist Michiel Borstlap.

The artist announced his new album with a post on his facebook page, giving us a short back story of the album:

The music on this album is close to my heart. This album reflects a musical journey I have taken over the last few years, exploring my musical roots and breaking new grounds.

Some of the tracks you’ve heard before in my DJ sets, others you may hear for the first time. In the studio and while traveling I make music with many shapes and sounds, energy and emotions.
They are all here. I hope you enjoy this trip.

‘Messiah’ is really a nice piece of art, with its mysterious synths, that are enriched with powerful, yet soft vocals of the HÆLOS front woman Lotti Benardout. Joris explained that he drew the inspiration for this track from his favorite music era – the mid 90’s, which was the time when he first got into listening to electronic music. Now he takes his own twist at it, taking it to 2019 with this beautiful collaboration.

Knowing what Joris Voorn is capable of and getting a little preview of the album with the track ‘Messiah’, we are already counting down the days until November 15th. Check out his new collaboration below and pre-order the album here.
