Armin van Buuren – Unlove you (feat Ne-Yo)

Dutch icon Armin van Buuren has teamed up with the popular American singer Ne-Yo to present their brand new collab called ‘Unlove You‘. The track, which has been announced as one of the songs that will feature in Armin’s upcoming album ‘Balance‘, is out now on Armada Music.

Ahead of this album release, Armin has been seen very excited about this project and proud with the final outcome. Collaborations like ‘Unlove you’ seem to be one of the reasons behind that feeling. The trance titan had this to say about this special song:

Part of the beauty of having no limitations at all in the studio is that i get to work with the most talented people no matter what ‘genre’ they’re in, and Ne-Yo is no exception.

‘Unlove you’ distances a bit from the classic trance that characterises Armin van Buuren, showing a more commercial radio material side. However, it still shows touches from the artist personality, specially on the track’s bassline and rhythm, where it shares similarities to previous songs like ‘I Need You‘. At the same time, Armin takes the most out of Ne-Yo’s great vocals to merge and adapt them to his own sound. Ultimately, the ASOT maestro delivers an amazing sort of electronic R&B tune that has it everything: it’s catchy, melodic and danceable.

Beyond this release, Armin has more reasons to be proud. Just days away from putting out his highly anticipated album this next Friday October 25th, the legendary producer has also been voted as the best trance artist taking home the ‘Highest Trance Award‘ at yesterday’s DJ Mag Top 100 ceremony. A very well-deserved reward for a legendary artist that after decades of hard work and great music, keeps being one of the main faces of the electronic music genre.
