EP’s are a great chance for artists to showcase their talents in multiple tracks. Not restricted to one single, their versatility can truly come alive and young artist David Raynolds is familiar with that. This talent is very unique, as not only can he make beautiful music but also has a strong acting career on top of all of the ongoing music career opportunities. Not many people can juggle two demanding careers at once, but Raynolds makes it look easy.

Offering us all an insight into just how talented he is, he unveils the five-track EP titled ‘So Alive’. Featuring three cover tracks and two unique original tracks, it proves how great he is at making original music and creating masterful covers with his own spin on it. The first track opens up the EP beautifully with a spin on the massive Oscar winner hit ‘Shallow’ taken from Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s soundtrack to the film ‘A Star Is Born’. Showing off the range of his singing voice with beautiful echoing effects that make it seem like he’s singing to a packed out arena, this is a beautiful opening cover track. Moving onto the first original out of two, ‘This Is the End’ gives us more of the EDM vibes with the electric synths that layer under his singing voice to create a match made in heaven. Singing in a different style than his ‘Shallow’ cover, he proves that his voice has an impressive amount of range to it. The third track is the second cover track, and this time we get a throwback with Timbaland and OneRepublic’s ‘Apologize’ which was a massive hit, hitting in the top 10 spots across multiple charts across the world. ‘The Reason Why’, the fourth track, is the second original track by Raynolds. With a snappy beat throughout, he knows exactly how to create a beat that works well and has the ability to get stuck in people’s heads. Last but not least is the cover of ‘Dragostea Din Tei’, a track that instantly transports us back to our younger days where we would belt this track out and dance along to the iconic beat, and Reynolds makes it his own with his own spin on it.

The EP was made alongside Murray Yates who landed two record deals as the lead singer and songwriter of Templar and Forty Foot Echo  who signed to EMI & Hollywood Records, and his single “Brand New Day” was featured on the gold record earning soundtrack for the feature film “Freaky Friday”.
