Diplo sat down with the Rolling Stone recently as part of their Grammy Preview series covering various topics including his collaboration with Béyonce for contributing to the soundtrack of the recent Lion King movie, a possible Jack Ü reunion, how he likes tapping into different genres and scenes, and many, many more.

The Grammys are considered one of the four major annual American entertainment awards and the second of the ‘Big Three’ major music awards held annually. The first round of voting for the 2020 Grammys (the 62nd edition and first awarded in 1959) is underway at the moment through October 10th with the awards ceremony is taking place on January 27th, 2020.

Diplo has been teasing a possible Jack Ü reunion since the announcement that they’d split and take a break from touring ‘for a long time’ in August 2016 as he found it to be difficult to be working with Skrillex, while his partner was signed to Atlantic Records. When asked in the interview if a reunion would be happening soon, he was very clear about it, saying:

“Could be next year. I think Skrillex has a lot of material he’s been gearing to release. When that happens I think we might be able to do some new stuff, but I’ve worked on a lot of ideas for the project. It’s all in due time. There’s not any rush for it or anything.”

With this statement, it seems that he’s really hoping and looking forward to be working together with Skrillex again on new releases and hopefully bringing back the signature Jack Ü sound from 2014 that brought the energy to stages across the world.

Check out the full interview on the Rolling Stone website. Are you looking forward to new Jack Ü stuff and have you been waiting for a reunion, or would you prefer Skrillex and Diplo to focus on their individual careers? Let us know in the comments!
