In 2015, the lovable Oliver Heldens confirmed suspicions that he was behind the hottest new mystery moniker HI-LO. Announcing this with the news of his first release on imprint Heldeep Records, he said it felt good to reveal his identity to go along with the record label release and thus a new side of his musical skills was born. Stating that it allows him to work on a completely new sound without having to let go of the famed Oliver Heldens sound that fans have come to know and love, the HI-LO sound could not be more different and darker from his melodically uplifting style and it made fans extremely excited with what was to come. Now, he is turning his attention back to HI-LO – after the release of the insanely popular Heldens track Turn Me On (which has millions of streams so far and was named ‘tune of the week’ by BBC Radio 1) – with the track ‘Poseidon’.

If you’re more familiar with the Heldens sound than the HI-LO sound, be prepared to be in a state of shock (in the best way) as you delve deeper into the world of dark, pulsating beats that are truly unforgiving. Tech and bass fans will already feel right at home with this one from the start as the devastating punches of the beats grow louder and louder as the listener steps further into the world of ‘Poseidon’. There’s no shortage of snares, distorted synths and hard kicks with this one, which makes it so irresistible. If you close your eyes whilst listening to this track, you will be transported into the darkest, most underground club where all that matters is the beats vibrating through the speakers onto the dance-floor.

HI-LO has made pure, unfiltered magic with this special track. You can listen to it below but be beware: This track bites.
