Martin Garrix & Dean Lewis – Used To Love
Martin Garrix is once again teaming up with another talented Australian singer-songwriter as he enlists the talents of Dean Lewis on their new single ‘Used To Love’.
Talking about their friendship, Martin spoke highly of Dean, giving only praise for the Australian;
““It was amazing to make this song together. Dean is such a good friend and an exciting talent. He writes deeply personal lyrics and his style of music is timeless.”
Dean also spoke on the duo’s collaboration, where he explained how foreign the idea of a collaboration was to him;
“Since my career began, collaborations never felt like something I saw myself pursuing. As a song writer, who also sings, the entire concept just felt foreign. Until I met Martin. We spent about a week together locked behind closed doors in Amsterdam working on a song, which thought might end up be sung by someone else. But as the track progressed is started to sound a lot like me, but also very Martin. It’s a real collaboration with a guy who’s now become a great friend.”
The last time Martin Garrix teamed up with an Australian singer-songwriter, ‘There For You‘ with Troye Sivan was born. The track earned Platinum and Gold certifications in 10 different countries, as well as peaking at #12 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic chart – leaving ‘Used To Love’ with big shoes to fill!
