Watch Deadmau5 and Dillon Francis have a dance-off on stage

Although they are on two ends of the EDM spectrum in terms of the music they produce, Deadmau5 and Dillon Francis are actually long-time friends. Whether the pair are going on coffee runs together, or remixing each other’s tracks (Dillon did a remix of the iconic track ‘Some Chords‘ on the ‘5 Years of Mau5’ album) they have kept their friendship strong all these years. Over the weekend, in true DJ fashion, Deadmau5 decided to surprise Dillon whilst on stage.

Playing at Escape: Psycho Circus – a halloween/circus themed festival in Southern California ran by Insomniac – over the weekend, Dillon was smashing the main stage as always to a huge sea of fans. To everyone’s surprise, including Dillon’s, he was joined by an extra special guest: Deadmau5! During his ‘Dancing Queen’ by Abba part of his set (which has become a comedic and lighthearted staple thanks to YouTuber David Dobrik), he ran up to the stage and got up on the decks, ushering Dillon to follow suit and the results were heartwarmingly funny. An image that will forever be carved into our minds and the attendees minds is that of Deadmau5 and Dillon Francis twisting their bodies – and quite frankly we don’t want to forget it either!

Dillon was right, this is definitely the wholesome content we needed for today. Watch the clip below and try not to smile (it’s pretty hard!).
