International Nightlife Association names Hï Ibiza named world’s best nightclub
While DJ Mag’s Top 100 clubs list is unreservedly a prominent one, the International Nightlife Association (INA) have now released their official list, with Hï Ibiza taking the award of “World’s Best Nightclub”. While unsurprisingly, Ibiza took out 4 of the top 10 spots and another 5 belonging to the United States, the UAE’s Cavalli Club Dubai took out the 2nd spot, despite not appearing at all on that of DJ Mag’s list.
Once again proving to be the clubbing capitals of the world, Spain and the United States flooded the list, with Spain contributing 22 venues, while the U.S came in at a close second with 21. However, the drop from 2nd to 3rd is a substantial one, with Italy’s 4 clubs giving them the final spot on the podium. In addition to this, the UK contributed a mere 3 clubs to the list, despite having once been home to an abundance of esteemed venues. In fact, the last time a UK cub won the title of “World’s Best Nightclub” (according to the DJ Mag poll) was in 2010, when Sankeys in Manchester took the chocolates. Fabric in London also won the honour 2 years prior in 2008.
While both lists feature many similar prominent names, they both evidently differ. While Brazil’s Green Valley topped DJ Mag’s list, it failed to finish in the INA’s top 10, coming in at #13. Even more shockingly, Washington D.C.’s Echostage clocked in at #94 on the INA’s list, despite finishing 2nd on DJ Mag’s list.
