Home Marshmello takes home “Favorite EDM Artist” at the AMAs; Avicii second

American DJ and producer Marshmello has taken home the prestigious Electronic Dance Music (EDM) “Favorite Artist” award at the American Music Awards – AMAs last Sunday for a second time in a row. The ceremony, which was held in Los Angeles (California), also saw how the beloved legend Avicii was recognized and tributed by capturing the second position while the iconic duo The Chainsmokers completed the podium with the third place.

It has been indeed a great year for the masked artist. Musically, he reached an astonning success with his collab with BastilleHappier‘, which apart from being feature in the popular game Fortnite, broke the record for the all-time longest-running number 1 track on the Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs Chart overcoming the 50 weeks in front of the table. The song was also nominated at the AMAs for ‘Colaboration of the Year’ and although it didn’t win that trophe, the song has truly become massive everywhere as demonstrates the official music video with almost 440 million views to date.

However, it’s not only his music what has marked his success this year. Marshmello also signed with the reputed Beverly Hills-based agency William Morris Endeavor (WME) home to other big artists like Martin Garrix or Zedd. He also signed a multimillion deal with Las Vegas club KAOS for a mindblowing $60 million 2-year residency that even this has been recently due to the shuttering of the nightclub, it upgraded the artist category to the size of a real megastar.

We’re unsure if Marshmello has even a limit. This ambitious project that started roughly 4 years ago, has nothing but grown at an unstoppable pace ultimately becoming one of the biggest names in the electronic music scene.
