Mat Zo’s iconic album ‘Damage Control’ turns 6 years old

The album that put Mat Zo on the map “Damage Control” turns 6 years old! At just 23 years old, Mat’s debut album earned him a Grammy-nomination, putting his name on the map, thanks to tracks such as ‘Easy’ with Porter Robinson, ‘Only For You’ and ‘Pyramid Scheme’.

As far as debut albums go, “Damage Control” proved to be in a category of its own. Released through Anjunabeats and Astralwerks, the album had the pleasure of being released with solid foundations behind it. “Damage Control” would go on to peak at #1 on the US Billboard Top Heatseekers chart and reached as high as #7 on the US Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Damage Control” was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2013.

Since “Damage Control’s” gargantuan release, Mat has put out more than 10 original singles, more than 15 official remixes and another studio album, which came in the form of ‘Self Assemble’. Released through his Mad Zoo imprint, ‘Self Assemble’ incidentally also peaked at #7 on the US Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart, but never surpassed its predecessor. In its defence, however, “Damage Control” left some big shoes to fill!
