Avicii - David Guetta David Guetta Avicii tribute

David Guetta honors Avicii with stunning set at Avicii Tribute Concert

With years and years of experience in the music industry, David Guetta has seen and experienced a lot in the scene. In fact, Guetta and Avicii were close friends and collaborators, each teaching each other their knowledge and helping each other to grow (with Guetta saying in an interview to Billboard that they influenced each other). After Avicii’s unfortunate and shocking death, Guetta called up his management to immediately cut down on the amount of shows he was doing and took time to reflect on his friendship with the Swedish artist and the industry as a whole. Their working and personal relationship started when Guetta had reached out to Avicii to remix one of his tracks after discovering his work, and this later lead to the collaborative song between the pair titled ‘Sunshine’.

At the emotional Avicii Tribute Concert, David Guetta got the chance to pay tribute to his friend in Stockholm at the Friends Arena and his set did not disappoint in any way. Kicking off his set, he chose to open up with hugely popular track ‘Never Be Alone’ which featured one of Avicii’s close collaborators Aloe Blacc on vocals and then went into another Aloe Blacc collab with ‘S.O.S’.

Guetta was also one of the fortunate few artists who got to work on an official remix for one of the newer Avicii tracks, and his ‘Heaven’ tribute remix – with Morten – was received greatly to the massive crowd who had flocked from all over the world. The rest of the setlist was filled with Avicii tracks, Avicii produced tracks and tracks from other artists that fit the emotional and special vibe of the night. In addition to this, he played out a special track featuring Avicii and said it was the first and most likely last time that song will ever be played out in his sets.
