The Disney parks are known as ‘the happiest place on earth’, and it’s where dreams are made for people of all ages (you’re never too old to enjoy the magic!). Disney cares about it’s cast members (the official name given to employees who work at the park) a lot, and working there certainly can have its perks such as heavily discounted items and complimentary park admission among other things. Oh, and a free concert from none other than Swedish king Axwell himself. That’s right, Magic Kingdom cast members were treated to a mind blowing set at the magical Cinderella Castle the other night and it was huge to say the least.

Parks and Resorts Scandinavia had booked out the entire Magic Kingdom Orlando park for a huge employee event that combined their staff and the Disney World cast members as a way of giving back to the staff that work together to tirelessly bring the magic to millions of visitors from all over the world each year, and what a way to do it! If you’re sad about missing out on this once in a lifetime event, then don’t worry as it was exclusively invite-only and kept as a complete secret from the world until it actually happened.

The setlist (which at the time of writing, has not been uploaded in full online yet) featured classics such as ‘Don’t You Worry Child’, ‘In My Mind’ and ‘Dancing Alone’ mixed in with newer tracks such as the long-anticipated Swedish House Mafia ID ‘It Gets Better’ and some tunes recognisable from previous solo sets he has done. The set was around an hour long, and featured an incredible firework show with the iconic castle at the forefront of it all (as well as Axwell himself). Speaking about it, he stated:

“When I was a kid, my only experience with Disney was one hour every year – that was Christmas Eve. In Sweden we had cartoons one hour every year. Can you imagine? In Sweden we tried to create some kind of inverse magic by just giving it to us just once a year, which makes this even more amazing for me to be able to stand at Magic Kingdom where it all comes from and play my music for you.”
