Coachella teases special documentary ‘Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert’

2020 marks the 21st anniversary of one of the most well-known mega-festivals in the world, Coachella. After the recent reveal of this year’s line-up, they sparked some extra interest with announcing that a special movie is in the making, to reflect back on the two decades worth of memories and the history of the festival.

“Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert” is a documentary taking us on a trip down memory lane, to have an insight into the most extraordinary performances, never-before-seen footages, interviews and exclusive behind-the-scenes stories that have shaped the music festival throughout the 20 years. The film, produced and directed by Chris Perkel, features performances from Daft Punk, Swedish House Mafia, Björk, Radiohead, Kanye West, Madonna and many more. It is scheduled to premiere via YouTube Originals on March 31, just a week before the festival opens its gate for the 21st time.

Coachella takes place in California, U.S. and showcases popular artists, well-established musical acts as well as introducing emerging talents and reunited groups in various genres ranging from mainstream through indie to EDM and rock. This year’s headliners include Travis Scott, Rage Against The Machine and Frank Ocean, but take a look at the full line-up here. Both weekends (the opening 10-12 April, and the second 17-19 April 2020 ) are already sold out, according to the organizers. However, you can still register for the waiting list of your preferred weekend on the official website of Coachella, here.
