Kygo & Sandro Cavazza reveal ‘The Story Of Forever Yours’ (Avicii Tribute)

Now it’s out for all to hear, Kygo & Sandro Cavazza have released a video, “The Story Of Forever Yours (Avicii Tribute)”, which takes a look at the inspirations and make-up of the powerful tribute released last Friday. After debuting a new track this past December at the Avicii Tribute Concert, the Norwegian-Swedish pairing have finally arrived with the emotional release of the finished version of ‘Forever Yours’.

Forging song concepts during a trip across the US, Sandro (the singer of “Without You”) put an idea forward to Tim Bergling, with the goal of playing some new music at Ultra Music Festival Miami in 2016. Tim appeared to love the idea so much that they had to work on it immediately and they managed to put together a rough version of “Forever Yours” ready for the Florida festival. Unfortunately, the song was never properly finished whilst he was alive as he toyed with many different versions of the track, however, having heard the “special” song at Ultra, Kygo wished to honour him in completing his work as Avicii had massively influenced him.

Writing to Cavazza, Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll (Kygo’s real name) told Sandro how much the songs they had worked on together meant to him, “Forever Yours” being one of them. Arranging to meet in a studio in L.A, the pair worked tirelessly writing two tracks in a few days before seizing the opportunity to finish the very special project. In the video, Kygo details how the new version compares to the 2016 one, having attempted to recreate Avicii’s iconic piano sounds and techniques.

“The Story Of Forever Yours (Avicii Tribute)” also delves into the raw emotions of that terrible day when both artists heard the news that Tim had sadly passed away. Describing the pure shock after thinking all was okay with Tim, Kygo and Sandro wish to raise awareness for mental health and have therefore decided to donate all proceeds from the track to the Tim Bergling Foundation. Follow this link where you too, can go to donate to such a meaningful cause, close to the dance communities hearts.
