Martin Garrix welcomes 2020 with an exclusive Beats 1 Radio NYE mix

Martin Garrix has once again joined forces with Beats 1 for a huge New Years Eve mix to close the 2010s, and welcome the 2020s. The Beats 1 radio station, owned by Apple, has been in operation since 2015, and has hosted Garrix for its annual NYE mix since 2016, with his first mix titled Welcome to 2017″.

The high-energy mix, a trait which we have come to expect from the Dutch powerhouse, opens with an intro edit of his third Bonn collaboration Home, which sets the tone for the rest of the hour. Garrix masterfully intertwines crowd favourites such as his breakthrough hit ‘Animals’, 2015 release, ‘Break Through The Silence’, even adding a touch of classic Alesso and OneRepublic singalong ‘If I Lose Myself’. The mix is certainly not short of STMPD Records tracjs either, with the intense LOOPERS and Seth Hills’ collab ‘Out Of Control’, and the STMPD up-and-comer SWACQ‘s masterful, ‘No Strings Attached’, just to name a few.

Garrix took to Twitter to announce his mix, which was no doubt played at many Garrix fans’ NYE celebrations across the globe:

The 23 year-old closed the mix – and the decade – off with the Dubvision remix of his smash hit Dua Lipa collab, ‘Scared To Be Lonely’ – a certain crowd pleaser and a satisfying end to an hour that would make any Garrix fan happy.

As of yet no audio has been posted online, so only those who have Apple Music are able to listen to the mix. Keep an eye out on Mixcloud for a potential future release. For now, you can get the full tracklist here via 1001tracklists.
