Spotify will now create a playlist for you and your pet

Spotify has just announced a new curated playlist feature… and it’s purrrfect for your pet. Whether you’re caring for a dog or hamster, an iguana or cat, Spotify has created an animal-friendly algorithm that will put both warm and cold-blooded ears at ease.

The new playlist feature requires the user to select which type of pet would be listening and then asks to describe the temperament of your pet. Next, the user will be able to upload a photo and give a unique name to the playlist. From there, Spotify will sync your profile to the profile of your pet, thus, making a curated playlist that both man and man’s best friend can enjoy. Users are also able to share their playlist among friends and social media using the hashtag #SpotifyPets.

Spotify had this to say about their new playlist feature,

“We found that 71% of pet owners surveyed play music for their pets…more often than not, humans also think about their pets’ emotional well-being, with 70% of animal parents considering the emotional wellness of their pets daily. Plus, 8 in 10 people believe their pets like music, and around 46% of people feel that music is a stress reliever for their furry friends.”
