Subtronics drops ‘Now That’s What I Call Riddim Vol. 5’: Listen
HEADBANGERS, REJOICE! Subtronics has finally unveiled his fifth edition of ‘Now That’s What I Call Riddim’ and it’s loaded with wonky debauchery. It’s been an explosive year for the American, first with his collaborative hit with GRiZ, “Griztronics” which has made its way from viral TikToks to insane edits from Joyryde to Bassnectar. Between the numerous singles and features, he also released two EPs, ‘Cyclops Army’ and ‘Wonked On Tronics’.
The 145-track 35-minute mix opens up with Subtronics’ VIP remix of Excision‘s ode-to-dubstep track ‘Vault’. he orchestrates this mix as he would a live set, by switching up drops, but this mix hits different. He encourages nostalgia by playing familiar build-ups that leave us hanging by a thread then changes up with a fresh new groove instead. During the mix, listeners can expect plenty of IDs from a few artists such as Phiso, but mainly from Subtronics, some of which include collaborations with soon-to-be-announced artists and one with NGHTMARE. We’re also presented with the voices of some of our favorite producers such as Sullivan King, Kayzo and Snails throughout the mix, welcoming us to the madness that Subtronics has in store. To bring the mix to an end, in the 32nd minute, Subtronics gives two different VIPs of Griztronics which we’re DYING over.
