8 years ago, Qulinez released the incredibly versatile record “Troll” which saw huge success under Steve Angello’s SIZE imprint.

In 2011, the Qulinez project was started up by two childhood friends hailing from Varberg, Sweden in Alexander Lager and Johannes Gustafsson. A year into the project they were brave enough to send a demo over to Steve Angello who, to their surprise, took immediate interest and insisted they work under his label. With “Troll” in their arsenal, little did they know that one of their releases was about to see huge support from the biggest players in dance music after a release on SIZE.

As one of the leading numbers of the progressive house movement, “Troll” made its way onto the USB’s of heavyweights such as Alesso, Cazzette, Hardwell, Tiësto and Sander van Doorn and was even championed by the Swedish House Mafia following their Madison Square Garden show.

Its clear to see why so many got behind “Troll” due to its innovative sound and complexity that was destined to tear up the dance floor. Combining big room elements of the time with the typical Swede-style melodies that we have come to know and love, it is truly reminiscent of the golden era of EDM and was deservedly a fan favourite!

Be sure to take yourself back to 2012 below with the nostalgic hit “Troll” from Swedish duo Qulinez, as we celebrate the 8th anniversary of  its release.
