Whitney Houston’s classic ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ gets huge remix from MLNZ

Based in the industry-centric city of Los Angeles, MLNZ is an up-and-comer that has a lot to offer the world of electronic music. Becoming a graduate of Icon Collective School of Music – like Jauz and NGHTMRE to name a few – proves that he has bags of talent up his sleeve just waiting for the world to see, and it won’t be long until they do and his first release of 2020 is a great chance to get to know the artist and his abilities.

For this release, he has taken to giving the iconic Whitney Houston a tribute in the form of a remix of the iconic ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’. With Houston being one of MLNZ’ favourite vocalists growing up, he found it fitting to use his musical abilities to create a touching yet fun tribute. When asked about this and the motivation behind it, he had this to say:

“Whitney Houston is the prime example of why we need awareness on mental health. She crushed every obstacle in front of her and accomplished what usually takes multiple lifetimes to build. I grew up listening to Whitney Houston and grew up listening to this song on repeat back in my early years. I thought it would be fitting to give her a tribute because she gave up the most of her life creating for others that she forgot about taking care of her own struggles within. This is the least I can do for someone who was such an influence to my own personal life.”

The track itself is a perfectly unique twist on the classic track, and MLNZ has injected a perfect modern electronic twist into it. The drop is fun, and the build-up is equally as good whilst taking nothing away from the original vocals. Listen to the track below and grab a free download here.
