Tomorrowland takes the top spot in Electonic festival rankings

Based on its popularity and the artists that make up its lineup, Tomorrowland stands out as the best-performing festival on Viberate‘s rankings.

Always at the service of the industry, Viberate presented its Post-pandemic Festival Report that sought to analyze the recovery period brought by the year 2022. Viberate has its own music analytic platform that collects data from more than 6000 music festivals and basically all the artists that guide the current landscape. Of the many topics analysed, the performance of music festivals this year stands out, after the two terrible years that have passed. The last two years brought uncertainty, a feeling that has not yet faded and that has greatly influenced the music industry and live shows. To try to understand with which lines the festivals are boiled in this recovery period, Viberate ranked the music festivals by their performance score and placed Tomorrowland festival at the top of the rankings. In the analysis that relies on Viberate’s unique metric, festivals with a 2022 edition announced by April 21, 2022, and those that had already taken place by then, were included. In the end, a total of 330 festivals were analysed. Through this universe, Viberate wanted to ascertain the top festivals and sorted a ranking which orders the festivals by genre and their performance score. The genre is determined according to the majority of the artists present in the line-up. Performance score, on the other hand, is ascertained through Viberate’s unique metric for measuring a festival’s popularity based on the performance of the artists in their lineups, and their performance on social networks, including mentions and followers of peers (other festivals and artists). The analysis included the performance score from 2018 to now. Curious about the results? Let’s break down the first-place contenders first.

Of the 330 festivals analysed, 101 are dedicated to electronic music. In terms of geographical distribution, most take place in the US (19), followed by the Netherlands (11) and then France (10). The first five positions are in descending order occupied by Untold Festival, Lollapalooza Brazil, Ultra Miami Festival, and Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, leaving the first position to Tomorrowland. Why is the mythical festival the best performer according to the data analysed? The fact that the world stops on the opening day of the ticket sales, the tension higher than the Wall Street Stock Exchange to guarantee a ticket, the mysticism of receiving a treasure case with the secret key that opens a fantasy world and a lineup that gathers only the best could be factors that make festival-goers continue to place their trust in the Tomorrowland brand.
