deadmau5’s ‘My Heart Has Teeth’ appears on Resident Evil soundtrack

deadmau5′s new track ‘My Heart Has Teeth’ which features the lush vocals of Skylar Grey was just released earlier today and also comes as part of the soundtrack of Netflix‘s new series inspired by the gruesome video game that features zombies in an apocalyptic world, Resident Evil.

For his contribution to the action-adventure-horror soundtrack, deadmau5 drew upon his older JUNO and Jupiter synths forgoing trendy analog synths and sci-fi features, resulting in a gritty, downtempo vibe. “Dystopian suburbia” is the kind of vibe I had in mind when making this song.  It’s been pretty cool because I like that weird, corporate overtone of this entity that owns the village if you would. I just imagine what that would be like while roughly composing the song with of course the vocal accouterment of Ms. Skylar Grey.  She’s an amazing talent to work with and she just nailed the lyrics.”  says deadmau5.

In addition to the release of this latest track, today also marks the kick-off of his WAF (We Are Friends) tour.  The tour consists of an array of artists and gets its start at The Met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Appearing tonight are deadmau5 and friends NERO, Kasablanca, and Lamorn.  Other stops during the WAF tour include Buffalo New York, Chicago Illinois, and two separate dates at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.  You can view the full tour schedule and purchase tickets here.
