Fatboy Slim celebrates 20 years of Big Beach Boutique with special box set

Fatboy Slim is celebrating 20 years since his historic Big Beach Boutique event which saw 250,000 fans descend upon Brighton Beach on July 13, 2002.  To mark the occasion, a new box set containing a brand new DJ mix, original concert film and more is being released titled, Right Here, Right Now.

The event in Sussex was of truly massive proportions, drawing more than 4x the expected audience and doubled the population of Brighton at the time.  Norman Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim, reminisced about the event by saying:

“I think I was too stressed on the day about crowd safety to really take it all in, to fully enjoy the experience. Now I feel I can look back at the footage, remember the tunes, that sunset, my home seafront looking like a carnival in Brazil, so many beautiful people having the time of their lives, I have never seen such joyous madness, such good natured abandon…A wise man once described me as ‘a shepherd of moments”

It seems more than ideal that 2022 would mark 20 years since the massive, free, open air event on Brighton Beach occurred as Fatboy Slim continues to stay busy and innovative both musically and in the events he curates.  Later this year, he will reveal his newest creation, All Back To Minehead, a 3 day musical event with multiple stages, dance classes and even bingo!  Until then, the newly announced Right Here, Right Now is currently available for pre-order ahead of it’s September 2nd release date.  The collection is being offered in two variants, a hard back book with 3 CD’s containing the live recordings from Big Beach Boutique 2 and 5, as well as a brand new 2022 DJ mix, DVD of Big Beach 2, 48 page book with images and stories and 4 12″ x 12″ art card.  The digipack edition will contain just two CD’s, the Big beach Boutique 2 audio and the 2022 DJ mix, as well as the DVD of the event, plus a 12 page booklet with foreword by Fatboy Slim.
