Kate Bush has broken three world records with the 1985 song ‘Running Up That Hill’

The recent rejuvenation of ‘Running Up That Hill‘ has Kate Bush broken three world records.

That’s right. It’s not one, two, but three the number of world records Kate Bush has broken. The information is confirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records and the reason is her 1985 hit ‘Running Up That Hill’. The singer now holds the record for the longest time for a track to reach No.1 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart, the oldest artist to reach No.1 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart, and the longest gap between No.1 spots on the UK’s Official Singles Chart. The spot now occupied by Kate Bush previously belonged to Cher thanks to her hit ‘Believe‘.

37 years separate the original success of this single and the now renewed success, something that surprised the industry and the artist herself, who never predicted such an event. Last month, the album that included this single ‘Hounds Of Love‘ reached number one on Billboard’s Alternative Charts, further proof of the progressive success that ‘Running Up That Hill’ has been experiencing in recent months, culminating now in the breaking of these three world records. The reason for all this? The reason is directly connected with the fact that this single is part of the soundtrack of the last season of the famous Netflix series ‘Stranger Things‘. The season premiered at the end of May and it didn’t take many weeks but only a few intense episodes for the series’ success to drag along this 1985 track.

‘Running Up That Hill’ has been enjoying widespread prominence on international dancefloors after Anyma, the new alias of Matteo Milleri of Tale Of Us, released a revamped version of this single, featuring Meg Myers.
