David Guetta joins forces with Benny Benassi for ‘Satisfaction’ rework
Benny Benassi released the iconic single Satisfaction 20 years ago. While the single continues to be a staple of live sets, radio and digital streaming, Benassi has decided to team up with David Guetta to create an updated, new rendition of the classic track.
A rework of this magnitude needs no introduction. The robot vocal of, “Push me, and then just touch me til I can get my, Satisfaction,” as well as the infamous lead are staples of the dance music world and continue to appear in live sets and at events the world over year after year. For this newest rendition, David Guetta added some of the techniques of his Future Rave aesthetic to the original mix, making the track feel modern without removing the elements that helped the original achieve its success. Discussing the project, David Guetta commented:
I actually first remixed the track as a sound design exercise for myself, but I liked the sound of it so much that I started playing it in my sets. The reactions of the crowd were so crazy that I had to release it!
As for the tracks original creator, Benny Benassi, it’s clear that he has not only the utmost respect for David Guetta, but truly saw the vision and timing of this rework as a way to celebrate 20 years of Satisfaction. In his own words, he went on to say:
I’ve known David for over 20 years. I remember I would get messages from resident DJs in Ibiza who heard David playing Satisfaction at Pacha two decades ago! So he was definitely one of the very first supporters of the original version. And when he played me his initial idea for this new version, I totally loved it. He’s made it current again, it’s very Ibiza with a really great intro and it’s perfect for today’s DJ sets. I played it out for the first time in Mykonos and people went crazy. Everyone was asking me what it was. I am really excited about this collab!
For electronic music lovers around the world, this is an exciting remix of one of the genre’s most classic and enduring anthems. Stream it below of through any digital media player through here.
