Grimes regards her first AI-generated song as a "masterpiece"

The first Grimes track to be fully AI-generated has been released and much to Grimes’ liking.

Last month, Grimes took to social media to announce that she would be willing to have her vocal stylings and actual voice copied by an AI-generating software for to-be-released tracks under the condition that she receive 50% royalties.  Upping the ante, Grimes even created an AI-generating software called Elf.Tech to mimic her real vocals.

Just recently, LA-based producer and songwriter Kito released the very first AI-generated Grimes track entitled ‘Cold Touch’.  Grimes applauded the song, calling it a “masterpiece” and an “amazing song” and she has even stated that she would love to collaborate with Kito at a later date either to re-record this song or continue to write new ones.

The track clearly is very Grimes-esque and duplicates her vocals quite well.  The track features bouncing arp synths and a pretty catchy hook/melody.  While this song feels a little more pop-focused than some of her humanly-released songs, it’s still very much within the realm of Grimes.  As for the vocals, you’d barely be able to tell this was an AI generation.
