Icona Pop unveil fresh new album ‘Club Romantech’: Listen

Following a steady influx of singles over the past months, Icona Pop has finally released their 3rd studio album creatively titled Club Romantech.

10 years after their last album This Is… Icona Pop, Icona Pop released their 3rd album Club Romantech. The creatively named album follows the same formula throughout its length. That formula is a mixture of love-related lyrics and crisp house music instrumentals. The Swedish duo started the rollout of singles with I Want You together with Galantis in February of this year which was the first of 6 album singles prior to the release.

The idea of an album evidently came a long time ago since the album features Spa, a collaboration with Sofi Tukker which came out in October 2020. It is also the oldest single of the album and the only one from 2020. The solitary single from 2021 comes in the form of Icona Pop’s hit which came to life together with the globally famous duo VIZE: Off Of My Mind. Icona Pop managed to add some of their friends and colleagues into the album including British superstar Joel Corry, a one-man band Galantis, and Yaeger, a Swedish singer with whom Icona Pop worked on Shit We Do For Love. Out of 15 tracks total, 4 of them are never-before-heard songs, and at the same time solos. Those are as follows: Make Your Mind Up Babe, Stockholm At Night, Loving You Ain’t Easy, and Need You.

The album is everything a listener would hope for and expect from the Swedish pop duo. Positive feelings are ever-present throughout the entire length of the album and they captivate the listener with little effort. The duo’s vigorous vocal performances and expert songwriting shine evermore which further proves that the last 10 years made them age like fine wine.

As artists usually do when they publish their EPs/LPs/albums, Icona Pop will embark on a tour spanning across the United States and Ibiza. The tour begins on the 21st of September with 2 shows in Ibiza at Pacha and Cafe Mambo before moving over to the States for 8 shows in total. For those of you who won’t be able to catch the duo’s performances, you can always show them support by streaming Club Romantech which is out on all platforms.
