Nicky Romero expands his Nightvision EP with ‘Desire’ alongside TELYKAST & Linney: Listen
Building up the excitement for his first-ever solo show in Amsterdam this December, Nicky Romero dropped one of his long-circulating IDs alongside TELYKAST and Linney: Desire.
Further expanding his Nightvision EP, Dutch heavyweight Nicky Romero took a much more mysterious and deep approach to his recent musical style. Desire, which came to life in collaboration with TELYKAST and the multi-talented vocalist Linney marks the 3rd single of Nicky Romero’s recent musical endeavor. His last 2 singles came in the form of Mahoya and Give In, which also got a scorching hot techno remix from the surging VE/RA. Such an endeavor could just be Nicky’s most experimental one yet.
The absolute highlight of Desire is most definitely Linney. The way she established herself as a total centerpiece is not being talked about enough yet. Better yet, the track hasn’t been out long, which just leaves more space for appreciative comments. Her mystique voice carries the track’s breaks and buildups, and the only parts of the track where her voice isn’t heard are the immaculate melodic techno drops, fueled by rolling basslines and a vigorous, yet somehow serene synth. Desire is crisply crafted, always grasping for mystery. Nicky Romero and TELYKAST made sure to let their exquisite production talents loose, culminating in a track that could be a sure mainstay in both acts’ sets. Despite it being remarkably serious and raw, Desire more than enough compensates with exciting lyrics and tense emotions.
Desire might be the perfect track for many people to get to know TELYKAST, an experienced young duo who currently leans on the more mainstream side of house music. With remixes for some of the biggest musical legends, including Black Eyed Peas, Daddy Yankee, and Jennifer Lopez, TELYKAST sure knows how to catch an eye. Some of their greatest hits include Unbreakable with Sam Gray, Somebody New, Loveless with Teddy Swims, and much more. You should definitely check out their ever-expanding music catalog. As for Nicky Romero, he is currently finishing his mini-Japan tour with stops in Tokyo and Osaka. As previously mentioned, the excitement is building up for his first-ever solo show in Amsterdam at the tail end of 2023. Titled Nightvision, the performance will feature special guests, brand-new music, and Nicky’s biggest classics over his long-spanning career. Tickets are available on his website.
While we eagerly await Nightvision, Desire will warm us up just fine. You can listen to it, as always, down below.
