DJ Snake surprises Coachella 2024 with a full hip-hop set on the Do LaB stage
DJ Snake surprised those at the famous Do LaB stage at Coachella 2024 as he performed a rare hip-hop set on Friday night.
The Do LaB stage is known for pulling out some incredible surprises. After surprising Coachella 2024 attendees with unique sets such as ‘Billie Eilish & Friends’ and a b2b from Kaskade and Alison Wonderland, there was much excitement to see how they would raise the bar for weekend two. The Do LaB stage did not disappoint as they surprised the desert with a special hip-hop set from the French legend, DJ Snake.
Known as one of the most influential producers over the last two decades, DJ Snake has been at the forefront of trendsetting in the industry. He has never been afraid to explore the sounds of the world and create music in unique genres. Whether it be bass house, moombahton, pop, hardstyle or others, Snake knows no boundaries. However, it is known that there is one genre that has heavily shaped his artistry and has been a part of him for decades, hip-hop. And on Friday night, for 65 minutes, fans got to experience DJ Snake exclusively dive deep into a world he has loved and supported for his entire time as a professional artist in an incredibly rare set.
Snake had the Do LaB in a state of madness as he brought out his iconic Technics turntables (as he used a set of Pioneer CDJs in his Sahara Tent performance) and played a mix of trap and iconic hip-hop tracks, including those from Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, Baby Keem, N.W.A and others. The show highlighted Snake’s love for the genre as he was digging deep in the crates, and it made for an unforgettable hour that could only be viewed in person and not on a stream. It seems that the popular opinion amongst fans is that this show is something he should do more often.
DJ Snake dove into his hip-hop roots and delivered one of the most energy-filled sets of the weekend at Coachella 2024. The performance was a great example of how anything can happen at the Do LaB Stage and that it consistently finds itself providing some of the best parties of the entire Coachella weekend.
