Afrojack celebrates 10 years since releasing his debut album ‘Forget The World’
Dutch producer and DJ Afrojack first broke through to the forefront of the electronic music scene on the strength of singles Polkadots and Take Over Control. Having earned headliner status at many of the major festivals around the world, he put together his first and only full-length album.
When Afrojack rose to prominence in the electronic music scene, it was at a turning point for the music as its once more underground label was being shed for mainstream success. As Swedish House Mafia and Daft Punk lead the charge with their massive radio-ready anthems, stapes of the scene such as Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, and Tiësto saw the opportunity to expand their fanbase and sound. For Afrojack, a true student of the electronic music scene with a passion for being in the DJ booth, he would get the chance to showcase his pristine productions while working alongside some of the world’s best songwriters and vocalists. The results would produce his first and still only full-length album, Forget The World.

While he has yet to return to the album format in the years since the legacy Afrojack created with his lone album continues to see him headline clubs and festivals worldwide. Led by the opening track and worldwide smash hit Ten Feet Tall featuring Wrabel, the Dutch producer would achieve crossover success bringing him into the mainstream for the ensuing years. Listening back a decade later, the album is a time capsule of the music scene at that moment. The massive synths and infectious vocals defined so many classic tracks from the turn of the decade, with Forget The World playing an impactful role in elevating electronic music at the time.
Help Afrojack celebrate 10 years of Forget The World and revisit this incredible album today.
