Avicii anthem ‘Waiting For Love’ turns 9 years old

Released on 22 May 2015, ‘Waiting For Love’ fast became a favourite amongst Avicii fans.

First premiered during his iconic set at Ultra 2015, the Avicii track ‘Waiting For Love‘ was a fan favourite before it was even released. Known as a collaboration with Martin Garrix due to his co-production/writing credits, although not featured within the track name itself, it’s gained recognition as a timeless anthem, with well over 1.3 billion streams on Spotify alone (which Martin Garrix posted on Instagram in celebration, stating “Waiting for love reached 1 billion streams today and I wish we could celebrate it together“).

With vocals by Simon Aldred (lead singer of Cherry Ghost), ‘Waiting For Love’ became the lead single from the 2015 album ‘Stories‘, and perfectly encapsulates the emotional, yet upbeat nature of Avicii’s signature sound and productions. Peaking at No.1 on the charts in Austria, Belgium, Norway and Sweden, it also broke top 50 spots in countries such as Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.
