Club Space Miami reveals no phone policy for 24-hour closing party

As the site of fans holding up their phones throughout performances has become a norm in the modern age, artists, and venues are working hard to try to get fans engaged again instead of focusing on their tiny screens. Now Club Space in Miami is the latest venue to try to limit cell phone use during their upcoming closing party. Set to take place on June 2nd, the club will be hosting a 24-hour party ahead of their need to shut down or several months of renovations. In promoting the party on Instagram, the club posted a flying stating, 'Put your phones down and groove. Let's be in the moment present as a whole, disconnected from the outside world.'

One of Miami’s most revered nightclubs, Club Space is preparing to shut down for several months as it begins a major renovation project. Prior to the temporary shutdown, they will be throwing a massive 24-hour party and they just revealed it will be a cell phone-free event.

The final party will feature music from BORT, Ms. Mada, Rossi, Thunderpony, and more and will provide one last chance for fans to visit the iconic locale before it makes some major changes and upgrades to its layout. While phones will be placed in a locked pouch before ascending to the Terrace, they will still be allowed while on The Ground. Of course, this policy will have many detractors, but as the flyer states, it gives fans a chance to disconnect and truly enjoy the music for the night.
