Home Tech Upcoming Moog Labyrinth synthesizer appears to leak via online retailer

For decades now, Moog has been a pioneer of the synthesizer market, releasing cutting-edge instruments that have helped reshape music. As the iconic brand looks to push forward with new products, it appears an online retailer has leaked a new release early.

Since its in inception in 1964 by founder Robert Moog, the company has dedicated itself to crafting synthesizers to the highest standard possible. The Moog line of instruments has been a cornerstone of the music industry, providing inspiration as well as the ability for artists to evolve their sound over the years. Now 60 years later, the brand continues to be a cornerstone of the industry and delivers new products to the market on a regular basis. Of course, delivering a new instrument requires support from a long line of major retailers and independent music shops to help facilitate the process of delivering products to the artists.

Unfortunately for Moog, one of those distributors recently gave away a future product launch as the yet-to-be-announced Moog Labyrinth was put up for sale for a short time. The brand in question, TurnLab, had posted the full item description and potential price before the page was pulled down. While Moog has to officially reveal the Labyrinth, a lot of details were captured before the error was caught. Screengrabs and more reveal a tabletop/60HP Eurorack format synth with two oscillators, plus a ring modulator and noise with an adjustable tone. The addition of a voltage-controllable wavefolder has many excited that it will offer a West Coast-inspired synth, but the East Coast-trad low pass filter and two decay envelopes still leave some mystery as to what to expect.

As fans of Moog await an official announcement concerning the Labyrinth, the TurnLab post listed it at €699 but no release date was mentioned.
