Following a record-breaking world tour for his previous album, during which he sold out all dates months in advance, Böhmer took time to reconnect with his studio, the place where his creativity truly flourishes. This retreat allowed him to focus intensely on his music, crafting sounds that express his deepest emotions. His debut album Breathing tackled grief, while 2021’s Begin Again explored themes of separation.
Böhmer’s previous albums amassed nearly 1 billion streams and his live performances, totaling over 200 shows in 2022, solidified his connection with audiences. Despite this success, he felt a growing disconnect from his true artistic desires. Bloom represents a reset, a confident return to his improvisational roots and personal aspirations. The album reflects his growth and the joy he finds in creating new music.
The album’s first single, “Best Life,” featuring the Berlin-based singer-songwriter duo JONAH, captures this sentiment perfectly. JONAH comments on the track, saying, “Life is short and fast. You try, you fail, and sometimes we lose someone irreplaceable, but the memories shape us. ‘Best Life’ is about that rollercoaster ride of trying, failing, and living each moment to the fullest.”
