Behringer Shares Update on BCR32 & WAVE Synth
Behringer has been quite proactive lately sharing updates on upcoming gear. Recently they shared updates on the much anticipated BCR32 MIDI controller and WAVE synth.
BCR32
The BCR32 is a MIDI controller originally known as the BCR2000. After the announced collaboration with ZAQ Audio, the product was renamed BCR32. The controller features 32 encoders with LED indicators and 20 customizable buttons. Yesterday (2nd July 2024), Behringer announced on their Instagram Post that, after a slight delay, they have completed the synth’s firmware, and it is ready to proceed to the next and final stage. The final stage involves beta testers of the BCR32 for final approval before mass production.
‘We apologize for the delay, as the firmware was quite complex, especially with the inclusion of the Zaquencer firmware. Thank you for your patience.‘ – Behringer’s Instagram Post
WAVE
WAVE is a synthesizer in development by Behringer. The WAVE synth is based on the PPG Wave 2, which was introduced in 1981. The synth features a VCA envelope, an analog filter, and a digital oscillator. Behringer announced on Instagram that they have completed the latest revision of the synth, and it will be sent to their beta testers for final approval, which brings us the users one step closer to the initial release.
Replicating the unique architecture of the original unit made the firmware development extremely complex. We’re confident we’ve nailed this synth and aim to ship it in a few months. – Behringer’s Instagram Post
