A truly versatile musical duo that brings the heat with their music, as well as live performances; we could not be any more thrilled to be joined by Clüb De Combat, as they discuss main inspirations and influences, the origin of their style of play and how their signature sound came to life, their hit single ‘House Anthem,’ releasing their ‘Exciter EP,’ their most exciting of collaborations, working with Diynamic Music, future plans and so much more.

Hello and thank you for joining us! Could you provide us with an insight on the main inspirations/influences that led to your chosen career pathway in music?

“Since high school, we’ve been deeply passionate about electronic music. We began producing music at the age of 14, drawing on our experiences with musical instruments—Amit on guitars and Aviv on drums. Our early influences were primarily dubstep, drum and bass, deep house and electro.”

With versatility a key aspect in the dance scene, we would like to know how your signature sound came to be, as well as how it has evolved over the years?

“We’ve always been drawn to mechanical sounds, whether they come from dubstep or drum machines. Throughout our journey, we discovered 90s acid house, and as we delved deeper into it, we realized that this was where we truly belonged.”

Blending acid, house, and 90s rave industrial landscapes, could you talk us through your unique approach towards music production, and the impact it has had on your career thus far?

“When we produce music, our main focus is to revive the sounds of the 90s with a modern twist, both in terms of sound and arrangement. We like to think of it this way: Salad is healthy. Similarly, when we produce, we create a “salad” of genres. This keeps us excited and challenged, prevents ear fatigue, and helps us break mental boundaries. Our tip for music production: play with no rules.”

Including the historical ‘House Every Weekend’ vocal in your production ‘House Anthem,’ we would like to know the main thought process behind the creation of this track, as well as the overall inspiration that led to your version of this iconic hit?

“We’ve always loved this vocal and grew up listening to it. A few months ago, we had a big festival lined up, and during the preparation, we thought, why not take this iconic hook and infuse it with our energy? We started working on it, and within about two hours, the track was ready. One week later, when we saw the crowd’s reaction at the festival, we looked at each other and knew we had something special.”

Blessing fans alike with the release of the ‘Exciter EP,’ we would like to know the main inspiration behind this scintillating body of work, as well as the overall message you have set out to portray?

“The ‘Exciter EP’ was created with one goal in mind: dancefloors. Every track is infused with high energy and a pumping low end. Throughout the project, we constantly asked ourselves how the people in the crowd would feel hearing these tunes through the club’s PA system. We genuinely believe that every track in this EP excites listeners in one way or another.”

Teaming up with Matt Guy on the release of ‘Party Of The Year,’ could you talk us through the main thought process behind this certified hit, as well as the overall feel regarding the collaboration and working alongside Matt Guy?

“Our relationship with Matt Guy began with our previous EP, where he played ‘Delirio’ numerous times. We reached out to him, and after a few months of joking around in our group chat, we felt a great chemistry and decided to collaborate. We’re truly thrilled about the performance and support this track has received.”

Releasing music under Diynamic Music, could you talk us through your return with this well-renowned record label, and the impact that will have on your releases going forward?

“When we worked on our first EP, Diynamic was always one of our preferred labels. As we began the process with them, we discovered that, beyond loving their label’s style and sound, the people there were even more impressive. After releasing two EPs, we can confidently say that this is just the beginning of our relationship with Diynamic, and there are many exciting things ahead.”

With 2024 in full flow, we would like to know what the future holds for Clüb de Combat, always in terms of new music, upcoming collaborations, and live performances?

“In terms of new music, we’re always working on exciting projects. We have some great collaborations with super talented artists that we love in the pipeline. As for live performances, we have several cool events lined up, which we keep updated about on our Instagram page. One event we’re particularly looking forward to is playing alongside Solomun at the Sophie Festival in Malaga this September. See you there!”
