Deadmau5 live from Mumbai, India cancelled due to PM’s visit
The planned headline show from the globally admired Deadmau5 in Mumbai, India, originally set for July 12 at NESCO’s Bombay Exhibition Center, has been called off due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s forthcoming visit to the city.
This event, initially announced in May, would have marked the Canadian DJ and producer’s return to India after more than ten years. The artist’s last stint of live performances in the Indian subcontinent came back in 2014. The electronic music lovers all over the country stand disheartened with this cancellation, although the organizer Sunburn has fully refunded all the ticket holders and promised to reschedule deadmau5’s visit as soon as possible.
As far as the purpose of Modi’s visit is concerned, he will be in the city to inaugurate the tunnelling works of the Goregaon Mulund Link Road Project. Additionally, he is expected to inaugurate the Orange Gate to Grant Road connector, which would significantly reduce the travel time within the city. On the other hand, Deadmau5 might have missed out from performing in Mumbai, but the artist still has a packed schedule for the month of July with 6 live shows over the course of next 20 days, including a solo at Creamfields (Shenzen, China) and a Rezzmau5 set at Tomorrowland 2024.
